So, you want to use the internet on your P2K phone. What?
In 2024? Is that even possible? The answer is yes!
This guide is written with a US audience in mind, so you'll
have to verify which carriers support 2G in your country
and find your own working APN settings if you live
elsewhere.
THIS GUIDE TESTED ON:
V3, V3re
The first thing you'll need is an active T-Mobile SIM
card from 2017 or earlier. Yes, RedPocket, Mint, or
whatever other T-Mobile NVMO you're considering
buying a plan from will technically work, but they
apparently kick you off the network when you switch
towers, making you re-activate your SIM constantly.
You'll probably also need a nano to mini SIM adapter,
unless your active SIM card is in 2FF form factor.
The second thing you'll need is, of course, a RAZR V3.
Any unlocked GSM V3 variant will do, as long as it isn't
running the T-Mobile firmware or flex.
If you don't know whether your phone is a GSM V3,
take off the battery cover and look for a SIM slot. If
you don't find one, you don't have a GSM V3, and this
guide won't work for you.
If you don't know what I'm talking about with firmware
and flex, I encourage you to go back a few chapters and
read the flashing & flexing chapters.
Find the "Web Access" section in your RAZR's main
menu. Then select "Web Sessions". Create a new web
session, or if it's already full, press the menu button
with an existing entry selected to edit it.
Enter the following settings:
Fields with "*" can be anything you want!
FOR AN ORIGINAL OR OTHER GPRS-ONLY V3:
FOR A V3RE OR OTHER EDGE-ENABLED V3:
You should now have working internet.
