This page will teach you IF and HOW you can downgrade
your bootloader.
Bootloader downgrading is necessary on ORIGINAL V3
(not V3r, not V3re, etc- see V3 Collector's Guide)
running bootloaders higher than 7.D0 in order to gain
access to the phone's PDS area. Though it can be
dangerous to have such access, this proccess allows you
to carrier unlock your phone, flash unofficial
monsters, install skins, make PDS backups, etc.
First things first: download and install your drivers.
I use 6.2.0, for no real reason other than that it
was the first set of drivers I found.
Next, you'll need a computer running
Windows XP. No, it doesn't work on Vista. Windows
versions newer than that, I'm unsure.
Third, download Scotty2's Bootloader Downgrader.
Connect your phone, open the program, and simply follow the
prompts on the screen. From this point on, the program will step
your bootloader down one version at a time. This will only
take a few minutes.
Please make sure your battery is fully charged before you
commence this process.
For versions 8.23 and 7.E0, you can simply flash your
preferred bootloader version using the usual method. See
Flashing for reference.
